“Enhancing Integrated Maritime Policy in the Mediterranean basin” is a conference organized by the Molise Region in the framework of the Splitsko-Dalmatinska County COM&CAP MarInA-Med project with Adriatic Ionian Euroregion as associated partner, and hosted by the Committee of the Regions. Its aim is twofold as it will be the occasion to develop specific political and technical debates on different aspects concerning the future for cooperation in the Med basin while discussing preliminary recommendations to be addressed to the MED Cooperation Programme for its 2014-2020 programming period.
More than one thousand people went to the “Aurum” complex in Pescara to attend the meeting “The Adriatic-Ionian Macroregion: the priorities of the Abruzzo agenda“, organized by the Abruzzo region. Here the video and the interviews of the Midterm Conference that was held in Brussels at Committee of Region with the involvement of Adriatic Ionian Euroregion. The 1st video aims to present the Med Programme vision for the new programming period and also to present the first horizontal project experience. The other 4 video aim to present the methodology used for the Splitsko-Dalmatinska County Midterm Conference, the dialogue among projects, and the reactions of the European institution representatives (DG REGIO, DG MARE, DG ENV mainly) which took part to the event.
The eleventh Task force of EUSAIR came to the conclusion after the technical working group on the territorial governance objective. Members from the European Commission, the managing authorities and a delegation of partners come from Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Greece and Albania have participated to the meeting that was concluded in Venafro and where Molise Region has played the role of organizer of the event and main actor of the Adriatic-Ionian macro-regional strategy. It was a great opportunity for the Managing Authorities represented by Mrs. Salvatore Di Paola for the IPA ADRIATIC CBC Program, Mrs. Laura Comeli for the Italy – Slovenia Program, Mrs. Eleni Katsiyianni for the Italy – Greece Program and Mrs. Silvia Grandi for the ADRION Program, to share their individual experiences by providing details on the progress of international cooperation projects, outlining the scene for the next programming period 2014/2020. The event, coordinated by the general secretary of Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion Francesco Cocco, started at the Castle Pandone in Venafro and culminated with the Roundtable on “The Promotion of territorial excellence” which was held at Santa Chiara Museum. Giannantonio Ballette, the representative from the European Commission – Directorate General for Urban and Regional Policy – opened the debate with his introductory report after the greetings of the Mayor of Venafro Antonio Sorbo.
“Adriatic-Ionian Macroregion: the priorities of the Abruzzo agenda” is the title of the event organized by the Abruzzo region, in the framework of the AdriGov project (IPA Adriatic CBC Programme 2007-2013), that will take place on Saturday 28 March 2015, in the “Aurum” complex in Pescara from 17.30. The meeting will be attended by Mr. Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ivan Jakovcic, Rapporteur of the European Parliament for the Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Macroregion, and Mr. Paolo di Laura Frattura, President of the Molise Region.
The Euroregion is trying to boost their experience in European financial instruments and programmes cofounded by the European Commission. In this regards, the Secretariat of the Euroregion has been in Malaga (Spain) for the launching phase of the CLAVET project on the 5th and 6th of February 2015. The Splitsko-Dalmatinska County CLAVET project, financed under the ERASMUS+, the EU funding Programme for education and training, has recently started the implementation phase bringing together 10 partners (local authorities, academia, private sector and NGOs) from 8 countries.
The project, financed under the ERASMUS + Programme, has started the implementation phase on 01/09/2014 coordinated by the University of Malaga, as lead partner. The partnership brings together local authorities at various levels of governance, third sector, academia and the private sector. The Euroregion is partner of this project together with other 9 partners, representing 8 European countries. CLAVET aims at developing a platform for structured cooperation among local authorities for the qualitative development of education and training initiatives with the overall objective of overcoming geographical and border barriers.
The role of Regions and their Governance was at the core of the discussions held in Tirana on 15 May 2015 during the “European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region and its challenges and opportunities for the Balkans in the future” conference. The work was organised in the framework of the project AdriGov and with the participation of Maxhid Cungu, President of the Regional Council of Shkodёr (AL) and CPMR Political Bureau Member and Paolo Di Laura Frattura, President of Molise (IT).
Innovation as a tool for fostering the attractiveness, competitiveness and connection of the Adriatic and Ionian Region, and the strategic role of capacity building are the main topics of the conference “Targeting Integration and Development Policies in the Adriatic and Ionian Region: Balkans 2020 Toolkits” organized by Molise Region, at the EX-GIL Palace in Campobasso on 25 May 2015, in the framework of AdriGov, a European project of territorial cross-border cooperation co-financed by the IPA Adriatic CBC Programme 2007-2013. The initiative succeeded in engaging a dialogue between the regional, national and EU representatives.
